:?: :?: :?: In the last few days, I have noticed long periods of "no traffic" on the Lexington Fire Dispatch talkgroup (EDACS 08-021). The links to the hospitals are OK and some of the other fire TGs appear normal. I put my Pro-94 in "open" mode and discovered dispatching on 15-152, and nowhere else. I thought the 15-series was for linking to somewhere else, but can't find where that "somewhere else" might be. I have a hunch they may be activating the five 800 mHz frequencies they are licensed for, but never used. I will check that out to see if a changeover is going on. This may be some temporary thing, too, but all the other users on the Lexington EDACS system appear to be operating normally. :?: Any other ideas :?:

with apologies....

thanx for the heads-up... i have noticed the same thing.... the 15- tg's are used for linking two or more different agency tg's into a system.... listen when football starts here youwill hear the command post on 15-152 or one of the others near that.... this includes the patch to lex pd and th eother non-trunked agencies... do you have the other freqs handy... i will plug them in and listen as well...

I have not heard any of the "other" five frequencies being used--YET. These are 856.4375 through 860.4375. These .4375 frequencies AND 856.9375-860.9375 frequencies were the original 10 frequencies the FD was going to use. Instead, they merged their .9375 frequencies into the existing 6 frequency UK EDACS system and left the .4375 frequencies unused (so far). I have noticed today that FD dispatch is sometimes on the "normal" 08-021, but I have also seen 15-151 and 15-152 being used. They seem to "seemlessly" switch these around. All the other dozens of FD talkgroups (and others using this system) appear to be unaffected and remain unchanged. I don't have an answer as to what is going on. :?: :?: :?:

Unit Charlie:

Seems like you and I are the only ones trying to stay on top of the Lexington EDACS situation.

They may have been updating their system and like you say, getting a link with the Scott County EDACS system. I can't hear that system very well here in Extreme Southern Fayette County.

For the last day or so, everything "seems" back to normal on the system regarding talkgroup usage. However, I have installed all the 15-XXX combinations so I won't miss anything from the Lexington FD. My Pro-94 is great for its instant access to "open mode" and finding new ID's.

Please let us know if you hear of any pending changes to this system through your media contacts.

:) :)
