Lidar in El Dorado County

This afternoon I heard the CHP using Lidar on Hwy 50 from the El Dorado Rd overcrossing. They were beaming the W bound traffic going down the hill toward Sacramento. Heard many 80+ mph speeds called out to the pursuit cars parked on the on-ramp. They were using simplex on the Green 3 channel for comms.
I am starting to hear more of this, so, be careful out there guys!

this also happens a lot when the air units are not available to work speed and there are not many calls present air21 is sick and in the shop so air23 is in its place locally for sac
they basically setup the same as speed with air ops
you will usually hear a speed and distance traveled

the eastbound antelope IF I80 is also used a lot a mary unit will sit and lidar and the vehicles will pursue just like air ops usually on gold3 TA

also air23 has been flying around swingshift getting random hi speed and motorcycles lately
