Putting in the DC of 306 certainly helped on the Pro 97. I was wondering though, that number is not listed in any info, (to include the nw scanner guide), as a tone that is applicable to the LCJ. T
he radio keeps trying to come up with a CTSS tone, but I drove withing spitting distance of the facility and it still was indecisive.

That's the neat thing about sharing our info.... it's a lot newer than any of the guides! I guess nobody has submitted it here on RR. Anyway, an interesting thing with DCS codes on the scanners... if you have the scanner in CT (tone squelch) mode and a DCS code is on the transmission, the scanner will try to show a CT code. Especially 136.5.

Well, it drove me crazy before when traveling around and trying to find pl tones. I've heard this explanation before and have seen it happen. Here's a link http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/DCS and it says something about "Motorola calls this Digital Private Line or DPL. It consists of a 23-bit telegram sent repeatedly on the channel at 134 bits per second along with the voice transmission." Maybe the 134 bits per second tricks the scanner into detecting a 136.5 pl?
