Has anyone noticed a slight (but appreciable) decrease in reception for the Tulsa OKWIN site?

I would not necessarily describe it as a decrease in reception, but in the -time- it takes my SDS100 to begin trunking….to begin receiving traffic.

Recently this has happened to me several times. Eventually the scanner does start receiving, but it is a very unusual phenomenon.

When this has happened I always complete my troubleshooting checklist:

I turned my radio off and then back on…then..

I re-entered my ZIP Code and changed the range to 4 miles.
I confirmed the main database was selected.
I confirmed that under services, Police Tactical and Talk were disabled,
but Dispatch was enable (I listen to TPD)
I also confirmed all EMS options were turned off..and they were

The NAC appearing is: 92Fh
Sys ID: 92Ch
Site ID: 61
WACN: BEE00h
RFSS ID: 1

This eventually solved the problem, but what is unusual was it has happened more than once, and I have ruled out the antenna…

And then… it happened today on my stationary unit, my SDS200.

I believe the corresponding elements are fortuitous, and the issue is most likely that I have not updated my scanners since January 2022… But…I have not felt it necessary based on the very small range of what I monitor (TPD, TFD) and do not currently have a laptop.

Has anyone who monitors the Tulsa site on OKWIN noticed any reception issues, or has member experienced what I have described or provided any thoughts?

Thanks,

I have an SDS100 and SDS200 and all my numbers match except RSSI: -50dBm

My signal strength is full 5 bars.

What antenna are you using? Where (area) do you live in Tulsa.
Also have you ever tried PROGRAMMING it instead of searching by Zip Code (this is great for travel) but I highly suggest programming it via your computer.

I am also a STRONG believer of REMTRONIX antennas...they work great. In some areas you might benefit from the use of a YAGI antenna - I used to have to use one in an area of Austin I used to live in.

Yes..I agree that REMTRONIX is a great antenn.

The issue I am experiencing is very subtle… It is as if it takes five or 10 seconds for the Tulsa site to actually start trunking
