I see where double "A" lithium batteries are available.
Would these work for the handhelds?
Is the Charger capable of charging these or would they need to
Be charged externally?
Thanks
Tom

I have used Lion's in my scanners for years but I never charge batteries in a scanner.

What type of Lion's do you use? I read in some of the Amazon reviews that the AA Lion was not the same as a regular AA. I've been wanting to give them a try.

I have only seen non-rechargeable types. Where do you get a charger?

The Lithium Batteries such as the "Energizer Ultimate Lithium" or "Advanced Lithium" are not rechargeable. They will work fine in most devices, but not in Incandescent lamp Flashlights such as a "Mini-Maglight" . The reason for this is they are actually putting out 1.7 volts when new and will blow the filament. There are Lithium Ion AA sized batteries out there, but they are not considered to be a consumer product. The reason is that they put out 3 volts and would probably destroy any consumer device they were installed in, if that device was not specifically designed to use them. There are chargers available for these and other Lithium Ion cells but these are used mostly by hobbiests (think really bright flashlights).
