I suspect that the silence on this thread is due to confusion over your request. You want to use an LNA in a vehicle, but don't know how to power it? Power it from the radio if it has a built in Bias T, or simply add one.

And it has absolutely nothing to do with software defined radios (SDRs). Please watch where you post questions like these.

I'll request it to be moved....Mike

I would also suspect it's because the thread was posted in the wrong forum.

Now to the real question - LNAs in a mobile environment??? I don't think so. Most LNAs I know of work in the satellite service, up in the Ghz ranges...

The question you should be asking is how to improve your antenna situation. Adding amplification can only cause more noise and spurs, particularly if you're already in a RF dense environment

He's asking about an LNA, not an LNB. Though why he'd need an LNA with such a short coax run in a vehicle, is a mystery.

I've used preamps for more than 30 years. But......
I've never found them to work well in mobile use.

They're prone to intermod and desense as you drive around.
And I wasn't using the cheap ones. (Some of them cost more than $200)

I use them to overcome coax and splitter losses on my antenna systems at home.
One of those feeds 32 radios including my Broadcastify feed.

Without them, I'd need more antennas and my wife says, that's not an option! ;)

Most modern radios have decent sensitivity and trying to add additional gain alone can cause problems.

In the mobile installations I've done for myself, I found that using the best antenna and coax was about as good as you can get.

Rich

By the way, I am NOT one of those who bad mouth any kind of preamp.
I have at least 11 of them in use with a lot of spares on hand.

This photo shows less than one third of my 'spares'. ;)

This video is one of my USB dongles, running SDR#, receiving SatCom signals.
It is one of those 32 scanners on an ST2 antenna.

This is an older video is using one E4000 tuner USB dongles on that same antenna.
Receiving SatCom pirate activity.

I thought you were talking about 'in a vehicle'. ;)

I traveled around the world for business and tried various options in hotel rooms.
If I understand correctly, that's what you're asking about.

First, I'm assuming that you've adjusted the RF Gain to maximum and you still have weak reception.

Something like this would help you.
It provides some gain and several outputs.
Then you'd need a 'patch cable' from it, to each dongle.
Something like the below image will work. Just select a splitter for the number of outputs you need.

Even with the amplifier, the tiny antennas that come with the dongles are poor performers.

But ......
Keep in mind, if you'll be using a laptop, the dongles each require something like 300 ma..
You may find that your USB port will barely support one of them unless you use a powered USB Hub.

Yes Bus, Train, Tram,... (just an LNA not the Splitter).

I use Professional one.

Can you explain the picture?

Ok, you're back in a vehicle. ;)

That photo shows an inline amplifer, an AC power adapter and a splitter.
This photo shows the components with labels. (without a splitter)

That's not a good way to go if you're on a bus or train.

There's a decent amplifier that may be hard to find.
It's a Jim M-75
I see they're still available from the UK for around $199 USD.
JIM M-75 Scanner preamp - radioworld

They're good, not so good that I would pay that much.
They do show up used on ebay occasionally.
They're self contained with a 9V battery and adjustable gain. (a little bit of selectable filtering also)

I need just and smal LNA for Travel and an Splitter + LNA for home. So when i wrote the first post i dont know you know about splitters...

UK is bad i have to pay for GPB -> EUR and thats isnt that cheap... Can you recomende some other European seller?
So from 230V AC to DC what is when it have 16V against 12V?
What do you to get not more noise?
That's not a good way to go if you're on a bus or train.
In many Case i have no Powersocket only my Laptop...
That splitter what you use is a Powerblocker?
How about an UKW Filter?
