so I am back at trying to learn this scanner again after not using it for ages.
I have programmed in the p25 system for ottawa (Ottawa Trunking System, Ottawa, Ontario - Scanner Frequencies) and of course there are a bunch of encrypted channels. with wildcard on during scanning I of course pick up these talkgroups. is there an easy way to lockout just the ones that are encrypted? or do i have to program each talk group into the radio?

If you are going to use a wildcard, then you must program in undesired TGs and lock them out. When I am scanning a new or small system, I'll use the wildcard to find new TGs. When it is received, the soft keys display L/O .. Save. I'll use Save (F3) to denote something I want to hear (and later figure out what it is and label it). The key point here is to press F1 (TG L/O) when receiving something you don't want to hear (including because it is encrypted). It will save the TG (as a TGRP object) and lock it out. Note: don't confuse this with pressing L/O or FUNC L/O which will lock out the wildcard.
