Hello all, I have what I will consider to be my monthly dumb question, I have a Uniden SDS200, and have several talk groups on my favorites list. When I was having issues with my filters and antenna issues, I would listen to Broadcastify on a pad or cell phone, computer to hear what calls I was missing either from poor reception or from personal human error, I noticed there would be several calls that would come on up Broadcastify but would not come up on my scanner, I assumed it was due to the filter setting or my antenna or the scanner going through it's scanning process and was not a long enough transmission for my SDS to pick up, having fixed those issues I also made sure I set this particular talk group to priority , only having it set to priority doesn't make any difference when calls go down the scanner will not automatically go to the priority channel. In the olden days when I set priority to a channel on the old analog scanners (Pro -36, Pro-94) and a call would come down on said channel the scanner would immediately stop on my priority channel, obviously this isn't the case on my SDS, could someone possibly tell me what I am doing wrong or how I should reprogram my SDS so I can hear more of the traffic on the priority talk group? Thank you ! E.L.

Person streaming could be on a different site than what you have programmed in your scanner. Just one of many possibilities.

Post a link to the stream and list the county your in.

The Uniden SDS200 does not immediately switch to a priority Talkgroup while an ongoing transmission is active on a P25 trunked system. Preemptive priority switching is not supported for trunked systems; the radio will only switch to a priority talkgroup if the current talkgroup becomes idle or if the scanner is currently monitoring the control channel

Some Broadcasters que their hits and release them once those hits in front are being released. Your scanner can't do that so your scanner may be busy and you miss calls.

A little more: Pre-emptive priority is where a scanner will pause on an active transmission to check for traffic on a higher priority frequency.

Pre-emptive priority still "works" on conventional systems, just as OP describes.

However, because trunked systems are "scanned" differently than conventional, Pre-emptive priority doesn't happen with trunked systems. Only when the scanner is "listening" to a control channel, will priority scanning happen. An example of this would be you are holding on Talkgroup B which is non-priority and it is currently inactive (no transmissions). If a conversation happens on Talkgroup A, which is a priority, the scanner will go to where the conversation is happening.

Yeah, few of us are happy about this.

On why you hear something on a Broadcastify feed but do not on a scanner. Suffice it to say, in addition to that mentioned above, there are many reasons why this could happen. But filter settings are low on the list.
