I noticed yesterday that most of the regular OPS04 traffic was taking place on TAC01, and not OPS04. Then today at 6'ish PM when they were doing a shift change I heard the dispatcher ask all regular Elgin County patrol officers to switch to TAC01 and carry on there duties from there, while the 'scene' guys are on OPS04. Any idea why this would be? The only thing I can think of is that some of the big wigs down from Toronto/Orillia way have the OPS channels in their radios, but not the TAC channels. I assumed things would be the other way around, with the investigation on a TAC channel.

There's a picture of some OPP members a few pages into the Toronto Star that shows one of the members wearing a Garmin Rhino.

If anybody is close, it would pay to check the FRS and GMRS frequencies.

Mike,

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading through these threads then got to your post. I think people would be surprised just how much those lttle low powered FRS & GMRS radios get used in close range situations like this.

Interesting side note. The house belonging to the victim from Keswick has a Durham cruiser sitting in front of it and is sealed. back in December there was a guy missing from this same street. I hadn't been down that way at the time so I don't know for sure that it's the same house but it sure seems odd. He was found dead just inside the Durham boundries so they have been conducting that investigation and have done extensive searches of the house several times since then. Perhaps they're all putting 2+2 together now and the total will go to 9?

btw, just in case anyone is not aware of it...Keswick is in York region, so whatever is going on clearly has a Durham connection.

It'll be interesting to see if any of the media pick up on this. Durham was really tight lipped when the body was originally found.

I know someone that lives in the area so I've asked to be called if any OPP should start pulling onto the street.

There have been 2 unmarked cars at the house of the guy from Sutton (actually Jackson's Point) most of the day too.
.

The guy in question was wanted in an incident involving a strip club in Durham. I read this in the Star 2day.
Sadly, the mans name from Keswick has the same name as a kid I grew up with in Montreal, same age also. I knew this guy to like cycles but this was 15 yrs ago. His dad was a lawyer with shaky connections as well. I am hoping it is not the same guy.
