By Longwood Fire Company January 23, 2011 At 18:27hrs the LFC was dispatched to an auto accident with injuries at Route 1 and Route 52 north. MICU 25 arrived on location with a pickup truck vs. a sedan, both vehicles off to the side of the road. MICU 25 requested a second BLS and second ALS unit. Rescue 25 (Horstman) arrived on location and assisted EMS crews with the driver of the pickup, who was out of the vehicle and the driver of the sedan who was still in his vehicle. In consult with paramedics the decision was made to extricate the victim from his vehicle. Crews from Rescue 25 and Engine 25-2 (Cressman) went in service extricating the victim. The patient was extricated at 18:52hrs. MICU 25 transported 1 patient to Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Ambulance 24 transported 1 patient to Christiana Medical Center. After cleanup all units returned to service at 19:13hrs. Units: Rescue 25, Engine 25-2, MICU 25, Traffic 25 Mutual Aid: Ambulance 24, Medic 94, Ambulance 23
