How do they communicate with each other??

When in Louisville Metro District 4/5 [ 460.150 GE radios] by U of L there were metro PD units on VHF radios [motorola] commms where different ?? so what channel are they using on vhf how do they comm with uhf units - the radios were different as where the antennas
U of L PD 453.100 ch 1?; 453. 200 141.3 was referred to as channel 3 what is ch 2?

Funny you should ask that question. They don't....Jefferson County Sheriffs Office does indeed work off UHF, as does U of L Police, Louisville Metro Urban(former city of Louisville) and Jeffersontown. Shively, St Matthews, Louisville Metro Suburban(former Jefferson County Police) all work off vhf. Louisville has 1 vhf channel and 1 uhf channel "bridged" at all times to use if needed. An officer working an incident in the Urban area who might get into trouble, can't talk to the Suburban officer across the street..

Hope this confuses you even more like it does the other 1 million people that live in Louisville Metro.
