This unit looks to have some promise for a low band vhf listener. Not sure how it would do on the numerous mil frequencies on 30 and 32 mhz, etc though. Surely, fabricating some type of whiskers for this matcher is not so very difficult?

Just threw that out as something for those that like to resurrect old gear. I would love to play with it, but health issues contraindicate amassing more stuff to be tossed out one day by people not capable of appreciating untold boxes of like "treasures".

Looks like with longer elements-maybe a multiple of the stock elements-- it might be a fun lowband general monitoring antenna. Maybe like an inverted "V" top-feed? I am sure this will get shot down as impractical but we are entering the brave new world of lowband vhf skip again and someone might get a kick out of it.

The guys here speak so fondly of the various military antennas that perhaps there is some interest. No idea of how many Fair Radio has, though.

As experiments go, not too pricey.
