LTrunk and Optocom

Have gotten a couple of off-thread emails regarding the Optocom and settings I'm using, so here goes (the Optocom I'm using is bit-banger equipped if that makes a difference):

- Use the DB9 connector
- In the LTRUNK command line, designate DSR pin
- In the LTRUNK command line, also designate INVERT

That's it, except for your personal settings for COM port, system type file, output file, etc.

I haven't used it on a Multi-Net system, only Passport.

I am an Optocom user and program writer (LTRfind). I am wondering what results you are getting. The Optocom has a built-in slicer but it does not filter out >150 Hz which would be best. Could you post some logs?

I'm getting a lot of inconsistent data during actual voice transmissions when modulation is occurring - a testament to the fact that the data slicer on the Optocom isn't filtering out everything we need.

During periods where no modulation occurs, I get a lot of clean data.

Currently only using LTRUNK for Passport systems - have used your LTRFind program in the past with great success and will continue to do so for straight LTR.

I have not tried Ltrunk yet because I thought the unfiltered data would be too noisy. I will try it on some idle channels and see what happens. LTRfind has always had problems logging idle channels because of the short duration of the data burst. Also, Ltrunk may do a better job overall because it is using the checksum and I don't think the Optocom does.

I was about to post a request for info on using the Optocom with LTRTracker. Glad I did the search first.

I'll try the Optocom first, but it sounds like I'll need that Sub-audible slicer after all.
