Good morning Everyone

There are some changes happening in Lycoming County

The Old Fire 6 154.400 - PL167.9 is now the new EMA Frequency.
The new Fire 6 is 151.235 - PL 167.9
The Old EMA frequency 154.980 PL 167.9 will become or has become the new City Police frequency.
And there is a new Countywide 2 155.6475 PL 167.9.

I think everything else stays the same.

Your old EMA frequency used to be the Spring Garden Twp, York County PD second channel back in the day.

WAY back in the day it was the dispatch channel for two PDs adjacent to the City of York...dispatch console was in the Spring Garden PD station.

Some are in effect like Fire 6 and CW 2, the programming is occurring now, most of the Fire Departments are done.

EMA, City PD, and Countywide 2 are all repeated but until City PD starts using their new channel you probably won't hear much.

Are they doing away with the Citywide channel? 154.9275 isn't listed anymore on anything...

Did they ever dispatch anything on the old Fire 6 154.400? I remember back in the late 80’s or early 90’s being able to pick up the occasional dispatch on that and if I remember it was Lycoming.

In the good good old days before we could tag with text and had to squeeze everything into 20 or 100 channels on our Radio Shack and Bear Cats I remember a long closed nearby department to me used that as a fire ground and I would occasionally hear dispatches on it.

154.4 was City Fire. Then they went 800 MHz, and then just was dispatched on Fire 1. It then became an Ops channel.

Both old WBP dispatch (155.310) and new WBP dispatch (154.980) are patched together on the console until we get the last few remaining stragglers updated! (I think I have about 14 radios left which I should have reprogrammed in a week or two)

Are they doing away with the Citywide channel? 154.9275 isn't listed anymore on anything...

That channel is now City Events on 155.7825. That also replaces what was called WEMA. When Bills electronics closed we had to move some repeaters around as the buildings housing them were no longer available. The 155.7825 is now at Centre Comms site with an awesome footprint.

The Sheriff Repeater channel is still active, but not busy. I don't know what its footprint is, but it originates from the County Courthouse (or maybe the Third St Plaza across the street, I don't remember exactly). I don't know what its plans are for the future.

The two UPMC interop channels are for PD and Fire to talk to security and each other while operating in the building. It can also rebroadcast Fire and PD repeated channels throughout both buildings. During the power outage at UPMC Williamsport, it was learned that units inside the building could not communicate outside the building on both Tac and County-repeated channels. The interop repeaters are to fix that issue.

What about fire 1 when I worked at keystone they said the tx pl was changing or did I miss understand
