Anyone know if this IP based solution for interoperability is all its being touted as? I know Washington State Police have been working with M/A-Com to set up a NetworkFirst system there, any news on if its working out?
milf:
this is a news item i posted a while back.... i have seen a few of their demonstrations, it works rather well if everything in the system is working.... i have a little trouble with the system because it is "secure"... didn't have the chance with my scanner to find out how secure because had to do the story and get to the next assignment.... it is a good idea, just hope it doesn't become so proprietary that no one can use it because of the licensing restrictions.
Now as for Secure,.. well its IP based, so the actual interfaceing is not over the air,.. thus no scanner can listen to the IP part..... But the actual transmitted radio part should be scannable unless M/A-Com uses a conventional form of Provoice.
