Macomb county question

I recently picked up the uniden 436hp. I used the online softare to narrow down the departments I wish to hear but I am not picking up my local police. I live in fraser/Clinton twp. The only police that comes in loud and clear is Warren.

Is there an updated list of freq I need to update? I assumed that once I put in my zip code the closest police and fire would be easily heard but I'm not getting Roseville or scs either. They are in the scan but just not picking up.

What should I do?

Make sure you imported the MPSCS Macomb County Simulcast freqs and talk groups. Sorry I'm not familiar with the Unden 436HP.

Doesn't the radio reference guide come uploaded in sentinel already? Isn't the stuff programmed in there when you download sentinel? Or do you have to update the list with this websites frequencies?

I just uploaded sentinel 2 days ago and I assumed the frequencies and talk groups were correct.

Am I wrong?

I programmed in all of the mpscs frequencies and all of the macomb frequencies as well. I checked all of the talk groups and they seem to match the database. I only pick up Warren and Centerline loud and clear on 800mhz. I am getting Oakland county fire from troy and clawson as of last night on 400 band. No SCS rosevile eastpointe and no Fraser or Clinton Twp. I live 3 mins from the jail and I think that's where the tower is so I don't get it. I even programmed in the romeo tower and get nothing. I picked up medstar ems as well.

What am I doing wrong?

Macomb Frequencies

You want to use the frequencies that are listed for the Macomb County Simulcast, you only need two frequencies for all of Macomb County except Warren and Centerline which are on a different system. Macomb County Simulcast use: 853.9875 which is the primary control channel and 853.2625 secondary.

TGs I have confirmed correct, the first column is what I put in my radio display (FRASER POLICE) the third column is the actual radio display as seen by the user (50FRPD). The second column (2875) is the Talk Group.

There must be a new admin for the RR database, Macomb County, as it is no longer broken out by city which in my opinion would be correct as these these agencies typically dispatch themselves or by the Sheriff.

SERESA shows a Police Detective Bureau which is incorrect since SERESA is NOT s police Department. One of these days when I get some time I will send in some corrections/updates.

Thanks I'll try that when I get home. Should I be able to hear these clearly with the 436hp with rs800 antenna? I paid big bucks and I haven't heard the departments closest to me at all.

I will report back. As I said though I programmed all the 800mhz. Maybe I put too many in there?

I programmed all of the above into my scanner last night and still hear nothing. I don't get it....I'm only a few miles from the tower and my scanner is answer model.

I'll pay someone to set it HP for me and get this $500 toy working.

I live in Sanilac County,
I have Macomb loaded into my HP-1 and hear all kinds of activity, both on the P-25 (MPSCS) as well as other bands.
Sterling is on the MPSCS. and I do hear them as well. I have not paid close enough attention to how many towns are serviced by their "Central Dispatch".
I will try to pay more attention next few days and let you know.

Iam having the same issue .had mine almost a year I just gave up don't get it at all .and I am not good with computers and never set Scanners up with just by hand .I put in my zip code in and o for distance and still get every cc for all of Mi and Ontario .I its just frustrating .
I like the reception is better but its just sat there the last six months .
Ive payed 500 bucks and what a waste .

first thing you need to do is make sure that your squelch is set at 2. You should be able to pick up anything nearby as most of the data base is somewhat accurate fresh out of the box. I had to sync up the data base with my computer and police scanner and then I got absolutely everything I ever wanted and it all comes in loud and clear if it is close by within 40 miles
