Has anyone had a chance to get one and play with it more than I have? I've got one, but I haven't really had much of a chance to play with it. It does seem to respond nicely to SDR#.

I know it's a standalone SDR radio, but I put it here because (A) I couldn't see anywhere else to fit this, and (B) it is an SDR, and it does respond to SDR# and SDR+...

Realistically, I'm just looking for information borne of experience. It's a little daunting to me (and I've got the manual printed already, as well as some other lit I found while perusing the web...)

I have an authenticated Malachite SDR V3 (which is actually a DSP2 clone). Can you tell me what you mean exactly by "responding to SDR#"? I am curious how you would integrate them.

Just plug it in via USB, and take control with your computer. It will override the internal, embedded control with the more versatile control available between your computer and the SDR# software, no trouble.

My only real trouble is that I'm largely just noodling around with the thing, because I'm still figuring out this whole SDR bit. I was away from radio for a while (financial concerns,) and now that I'm getting back in, I'm seeing one important thing - technology has left me in the dust! So, I'm playing a lot of catch-up here. The electronics and basic radio theory hasn't changed (fortunately - no "sub-space communications" or anything weird like that,) but I've got to catch up with what the electronics are doing with the radios, and that's the bit that's throwing me.

I'm with you on the whole SDR thing. I have an Airspy HF+ running SDR++ on an old Macbook. It sits alongside my Drake R8B.
It was easy to set up and quite intuitive for me but I've had a few HF receivers in the past. It works quite well across the HF spectrum.
However, I'm not even sure what a plug-in is, what it could do for me or where to find one. Looking at most forums I see so many acronyms and arcane nomenclature that I fail to make any sense of 95% of what I read.

The noise reduction is incredible. I run a Malahit clone (cheap hola sdr ver) next to an Icom R30 and Yupiteru MVT9000 and it’s pretty amazing to get full quieting on noisy broadcasts.

Good evening all.
Please can anyone point me in the right direction to which retailer has stock of the Malahit DSP3?

For the official version, you would buy it directly from Georgiy via his site malahiteam.com (site is in Russian, Google Translate works well. Documentation is available in English.)

You can also get Chinese clones from Amazon - I'd ask around to see which ones are decent. I bit the bullet and went straight to the source for mine.

Thanks for your reply. I considered using malahiteam.com, but there are complications with payment. How did you get round that?

Yeah, the sanctions against Russia are a pain, were for me, too. Contact Georgiy - he's got people in Europe that can help him accept payments - and it's not a problem to ship out of Russia. You'll likely need to provide a couple of 18650 cells (get good ones! I like the Samsungs for reliability...) and do a little screwdriver work (he shipped mine "unassembled" so it went through Customs as a "kit" instead of "finished goods," but I think it took me about 5 minutes to put together. A #2 Philips is all you'll need (A #1 will work, but will probably gouge the screw heads.)

I think I made my payment to him via someone in Italy? Also, there are Russian "wallet" services for Crypto and soft payments that may be used.

Failing that, perhaps an international money order?
