I'm testing a new concept to see if we can address the substantial number of island/dead repeaters in the Midwest. If we want to keep the spectrum, we have to use it. Please, let's keep it technical! HF, DXpeditions, satellites, repeaters, arduinos, pis, antennas, propagation, digital radio, Skywarn, amplifiers, and tower talk all are good topics. Try to stay away from rambling on in detail about medical procedures. We want to cast a broad net to bring people in. We'll make it permanent if it catches on.

I've been wondering about this for several years now. Central Indiana has become a repeater wasteland for the most part. These days I'm on Allstar and DMR mostly but it would be nice to have a Midwest system. Somebody needs to pick up the ball and give it the ole college try. The Midwest GMRS group (which I never used nor was interested in) had a pretty decent network (100+ repeaters) going for a few years until the FCC lowered the boom on networked GMRS repeater linking. We need something like that for hams using some of those fallow machines out there. Are you planning on contacting and recruiting repeater owners?
