I have a Pro96 and am using the RR database file. I get all the PD and FD freqs nicely but still receive the school bus dispatch, etc. How do I clear them? I looked at the files from my scanner and there doesn't appear to be any database info in thier from the non-PP or FD talkgroups. I know this should be easy to disable or lockout certain AFS or Hex info but it doesn't seem to be there to lockout. Yet I still hear it all. Any help is really appreciated.

Sounds like you have the scanner set to ID search (open) instead of ID scan (closed). While you are stopped on a channel in the EDACS group you are monitoring, press "Function" then 5. You should see "Bank Closed" or "Bank Open". If you see "Bank Closed", it will only scan the talkgroups you want. Otherwise, it will scan anything that is affiliated to that system. You can refer to page 89 of the manual here. http://www.scancat.com/OnLineHelp/OEM_Radio_Owners_Manuals/PRO-96-OwnersManual_20-526.pdf

in the scanner or the software?

Thanks Shawn,
Is there a way to set these in the software? Or, are you saying that whenever I hear, say, a school bus dispatch, I need to freeze on that channel and then Func 5 to set that one to Bank Closed? In my scanner are the first 10 channels (01 through 11; the control channels?) supposed to be open? I'm confused because I thought I specifically did not load the data for the non PD/FD stuff. I appreciate the help!

You can either delete the talk groups you don't want, you can lock out the talk groups you don't want, or you can set the bank to closed. Since you don't want those talk groups, just delete them and set the bank to closed and you won't get anything but what you choose.
