Regards to my prior post concerning Manchester FDs moving to UHF dispatch, they haven't made the move yet. The dispatch I heard this morning was an error on the part of a county dispatcher. They're still on low band.

Activity has actually gotten greater, IMO. OCSD 1 and OCP Mobile are extremely active.

I agree with Joseph....they have been extremely active, prosecuters office detectives, OCSD 1, Narcotic Strike Force, etc.......try listening in OPEN mode. Maybe you dont have all the TG's properly entered?

Has anyone manually programmed the Manchester system into a BCD396T ? I am having no luck at all getting it to work. I tried it as a Motorola UHF, using the Base, Offset and Spacing and as a P25. When programming it as a P25 system, there is no option to program the base, offset and Spacing. It wouldn't ID Scan or Search either way. Can someone answer the following for me:

Does it get programmed as a MOT UHF or MOT P25?
Is all of the following information correct:
Frequencies: 460.5000, 460.3250, 460.2000, 460.1000
Is 453.9500 part of the system also?
Spacing: 12.5
Offset Channel: 758 - Note - Uniden models won't accept the 8192 Offset Channel, and someone posted that 758 is the correct one for Unidens.

I manually programmed both the Ocean County and State Police Trunk Systems and they work fine, but this one is a real stumper. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

453.9500 is not used for the system, its just a frequency for the license.I've attached the tower file from Pro96com it should explain it better.

I have no idea what a Tower File is and can't make heads or tails of anything on it except for the frequencies. Other than that, it's of no help to me. However, I do thank you for posting it and for your attempt to help me out here.

453.9500 MHz (DPL 412) used to sometimes multicast their Police-1 frequency (158.7900 MHz, PL 162.2 Hz). It might still exsist as a conventional repeater.

Here you go - Manchester Twp as both a UASD file & a ARC396 MEM file.

Good luck!

BTW - Programming an actual 9600 P25 system on a 396 is 'tits' (pardon the crude metaphor). All you need to do is set the system as a P25 when you create it in the scanner, and then enable CC-Only mode. Put in 460.500 (the freq that the CC shows up most on), and then run it for a while in ID SEARCH mode to make sure you're getting reception. The 396 was coded by design to recognize the base & offset 'defaults' of a P25 system with no further input from you as the user.

As a final test to prove it - set up a custom search bank for 460-461 on the scanner and turn on the CC-Find option. As soon as it locates Manchester's CC, the scanner will trunk the system all by itself (did this quite often the last time I was in Baltimore with all the military 380 MHz systems down that way).

I'm using an R.S. Pro-96 and can't hear anything. Not even garbled junk like on Dover PD Ch. 2. I have 453.95000 in FM mode. What's wrong?

that frequency is not being used on the system, program in the other ones and set it for Motorola trunking, make sure you program in the custom frequency table.

Thanks but I am not sure what that means. I've never had this issue before.

you have to program in this information:
Base: 450.00000
Offset: 8192
Step: 12.5

to program in this press PROG,TRUNK,FUCN then 2.

to access the section for 9600 baud press PROG,TRUNK,FUCN then 4 and make sure its set to table.

Cool! It worked! Thanks. I did not program in the base, off-set and step numbers, just the rest and it worked fine. Thanks again.
