Thanks PYR ...But I need the file...Its the only way I know how to load It In the scanner.

And yes I have arc996 and I'm a premium Member

Just use ARC and download directly to your scanner from the RR database! No need to have a separate file as ARC will create one for you!

Might I suggest you learn how to actually program the scanner instead of relying on the goodness of someone else to have a file prepared?

It's really not a big deal - I programmed everything within a 300km radius of Toronto into a 396 in less than 4 hours.

;)

In all fairness, how i learned was to take a look at a "prefabbed" file....made understanding how its all put together a little easier! :)

I hear activity on a daily basis on Fleetnet from the Correctional Facility near me.

Keep in mind that the only time Fleetnet is used is when a vehicle is off the grounds.

All internal communications are on UHF.

411.7375Mhz seems to be the common channel for most facilities.

exkalibur: I have been reading the manual that came with the 996...also the butel arc 996 since Christmas day...I'm Not relying on other members...I was just asking for a bit of help...Me being a retired Iron worker never touch a Computer until 5 yrs ago ...There was no Auto cad...all drawings were drawn on a old fashion drafting table.
I can remember many days In My career...there were young welders who came fresh out of collage with a welder/fitter diploma...and they just could not get the hang of welding pipe...they read all the books spent many hrs of welding In school...and they still could not weld very good at all...but they tried and tried. I have taken many of these young guys...who had a good attitude and wanted to learn...and I turned them In to top notch welders...some went In there own business and are still very successful...sometimes It takes a more experienced person to see what the other person Is doing wrong...you maybe able to program your 396 In 4 hrs...But I don't think you could connect or fabricate as much steel as I could In 4 hrs ...Its not really a big deal to help someone out.

I think the big problem is Maplehurst only has a couple of channels and nobody would bother making up a file for a system that small.

It's much simpler to just to program it in by hand then take the time to make up the file.

Just hit hold and enter the frequency given above. It should ask if you want to Quick Save the frequency. Just answer yes and you're done.

For somebody just starting out, you've probably just bought yourself the most complicated scanner on the market today.

If listening to them bus bodies around is your thing, it can usually be heard on the Chatham wide area talk group. The Windsor jail talk group seems to be used mostly as a car to car channel, but is rarely used.
