Maratrac Adjustable Squelch

I have a low band Maratrac which I have programmed for 6 meters. I recently purchased an advanced 99 channel control head with the squelch knob for use on this radio, but I cannot open the squelch when turning the knob fully counter-clockwise. I performed the squelch adjustment procedure outlined in Repeater Builder multiple times, but this did not solve the problem. I have all channels programmed for carrier squelch, so I'm not confusing coded squelch with carrier squelch.

Wondering if there is an incompatibility issue between the control head and the radio's squelch board, or if there is a malfunction of some sort. Any insight on this would be much appreciated!

Also, there are some adios where the boards didn't have that as an option. Maybe early boards?
I have worked on several.
There is an incompatibility, I forget if is was on the squelch audio board or that interconnect board.
But I didn't see and easy way around it.
So if Bob's article doesn't fix it, you might be kinda stuck.
I have a couple like that in storage still.

I freaking hated when they just stuck those squelch pots on the A-7 head. Especially when they were new and everyone in my neck of the woods wanted them. Most of the existing radios were incompatible.
