Just need to know if , I am in Warren county Ohio . Can I Pick Up channels out of butler county with the new MARCS-IP system. Or will I not be able to pick up police calls 30 miles away. I just recently moved and would like to be able to pick up some of the channels I use to listen to.

Thanks in Advance

Mike- This question may be better answered in the Ohio page. There are many folks watching that page having greater knowledge of this specific system.

The database uses 30 miles for the range setting for the Butler County site. But that doesn't mean if you are are 29.5 miles away, you'll get reception.

Generally 30 miles is "right at the edge" and perhaps even too far away. The type of antenna you use, such as outside mounted real high, may impact this along the topography.

Mike, most days I'm able to get good reception up to 30+ miles on the MARCS-IP using just my BC436HP and a RS800mhz antenna.
