Was just notified that Marlboro Twp Fire Dist 2 and 3 (not Dist 1) will be switching to Monmouth County dispatch next Monday at 10 am 08/05/24. Paging and response will be on county VHF for now. A migration to the 700 will take place at a later date.

Crazy considering Marlboro just moved to NJICS

These NJ towns are so disorganized, with no clear path to any common sense interoperability. Its all about the budget, and who comes in lower.
Because the agencies with the deepest pockets don’t want to share. It’s all taxpayer money but home rule means Agency 1 doesn’t have to let Agency 2 use their system.

Now in Monmouth you’ve got this hodgepodge with more and more non-County agencies moving to NJICS which allows outside agencies access with a letter but County refuses reciprocal access.

There definetly has to be more to the story. Why only send some agencies and not all? Even just all of Fire and not some!

They should have access to the Monmouth county TRS as their radios should have capability due to them being on the NJICS system.

Weird.

Talk about lack of interoperability, even in 1 town and just Fire

Hey Pete. Yeah, I heard the test tones about 2 weeks ago over North Page. Will be interesting for the coverage as half of Marlboro is Central (Marlboro - Rt 520 Tower), the other half is North (Holmdel - Telegraph Hill Tower).

Any update on the roll-out date? I have not heard any activity yet on any of the County channels this week.

the township likely had zero to do with this as it’s the work of the independent fire districts.

Another problem with the ridiculous numbers of local governments we have in NJ.
