I think that the most Active Systems you can have for the BCD996XT is 10 systems is that correct? I'm going to FL for vacation and I'm driving from VA. I'd like program all of the trunked systems available along my route of I-77 to I-95 down to Cocoa Beach, FL. I'm thinking that without reprogramming my scanner somewhere along my route for the second half of my trip, this is not going to be possible.

Either that or just program all of the State PD departs and Highway Patrol for VA, NC, SC, GA and FL. I don't have a Uniden HP-1, otherwise this would be a lot easier :). Anybody have any suggestions?

Dynamically Allocated Channel Memory - organized into 'Systems', 'Sites', (within trunking systems), 'Groups' (within systems), and channels (within groups). Up to 500 systems, 1,000 total sites (max 256 per system), 20 groups per system, and 25,000 channels (500 max IDs or 1,000 frequencies per system).

You can have them all scanning if you want.

Re: Max Systems

Okay I understand that, but on the front of the Scanner Display, it only shows Systems 'S0-10' I think with the disabled systems with a line through them showing disabled. So how am I supposed to know how many I can have active? I'm still getting used to this new scanner

The two lines at the bottom of the display, S and GRP, refer to what System and Group Quick Keys are enabled. You can have 100 System Quick Keys and 10 Group Quick Keys within each System Quick Key. Note that you can assign multiple systems and groups to the same Quick Key, so there really is no hard limit to how many you can scan at once, up to the memory limit of the scanner. You turn System Quick Keys on and off while in scan mode by using the keypad. 0-9 are direct entry, and for System Quick Keys 10-99 you press the .No key before the two digit System Quick Key number, i.e. .No-3-7 for 37.

Read through this guide, it will make your life easier.

Thank you all for your help. I think I finally have it figured out. It's so weird because the System '0' is first in line when you are programming it through a program such as FreeScan that I used. But on the scanner, the scanner starts scanning starting at System '1' and ends at System '0'. So for the next System screen it should start at system '11' and end on system '10' correct? That's what I'm thinking so that's how I've programmed it.
