I live in SW Arkansas and monitor McCurtain County fire and sheriff. I can't hear the state police at all. I'm looking for the state police. Are they on either of the trunked systems? I don't see a tower anywhere near them to cover the county. I don't hear them on any of the conventional channels in the database.
Thank you
Miike

I monitor troop D in Macalester up here in the FSM area and just a heads up the Base transmits on 45.22 and the cars I hear on 159.210 I would imagine the same works for troop E as well. No P25 active down that way yet. they also use mobile cop alot which are computer dispatches we dont hear. If you put those freqs that are listed for E in you should eventually find the right ones. just wanted to let ya know how i hear Troop D. Outside antenna of course.

Thank you! I have an outside antenna. I get McCurtain nice and clear. I'll see if I can hear the State Police now. Much appreciated!

OHP has a mobile & base relay in Broken Bow. You should be able to hear Durant on the base repeater on 44.7 but less likely to receive them on the link VHF frequency (154.920) due to the distance, although they are using a beam antenna. You might be able to pick up the mobile repeater VHF link, (154.695) however that is also a directional antenna pointed back towards Durant. I can pick it up occasionally at my location because it's aligned in my general direction. The mobiles transmit on 44.9.

There is no 800 mhz base equipment in SE OK presently. I've heard that is because of budget considerations and/or the terrain there is not conducive to good reception. I'm guessing the former is probably correct because the same conditions exist in your part of AR on the AWIN system.
