Mclean County Dispatch

Man for the past month I been listening to Mclean Co. Feed and I must say the Dispatchers all of them must be Dumber than a box of rocks. I hear people calling in from Sheriffs, Fire and Ems and they call like five six time before someone says someone calling they you hear what sounds like a TV and someone talking in the background, yelling, laughing. They are very unprofessional. I talked with some people in the area they say the dispatchers always say later to them they were busy doing something. One person said they called in to get some info and the dispatch said I busy call later he was monitoring all radio channel no one was talking for 30 min he then called back and the female dispatcher was very rude then. He found out she was watching here program on TV. If I were you and you needed help in that county I would call someone else. In the last week the dispatchers have gotten even dumber with Fire calls and more. One other person said they been hiring dispatchers that have been fired from other dispatch centers. I have family living in the county I told them call me first because the dispatcher might send the wrong ambulance to help you I heard that once or twice on this feed.

ha they must be trying to cover up their mistakes. I just heard one the other day they called and called no answer on the radio. I called the McLean county dispatch the other day and no one picked up it was ringing and ringing. Heard of a person calling from Max and the dispatcher said sorry sir your in ward county. He was at the cenex in MAX lol.
Here was one from last year a fireman called in a power line pole on fire and the grass was on fire as well and said call the fire dept. The Mclean county dispatcher said well sir I have to have a deputy check it out first I don't believe you so 25 min pass and the deputy calls in and says yes their is a fir. You should page the fire dept.

The radio system they have in Mclean County must be the worse I heard. The one unit when he talks 4437 his radio is so very bad. Tonight the the dispatcher were so bad they had a vehicle crash and fire unit you could hear them clear as day but the dispatcher their was no anwser on the radio then when she comes on the radio she is like who is calling ah ah. They are so lost down there.

How about Cass County? Those guys any better?

I only ask because the last time I was there (about a year ago) I didn't think to bring my scanner, so I didn't get to do any monitoring. At least I'll know better for next time.

Every time I have dealt with McClean County they have been very professional and when I monitor the feed I do not hear any issues on the part of the dispatchers.

Sometimes they are not bad on the radio but they sometimes they are send the wrong Fire Dept. to a call. Like the other day their was a vehicle crash near Mercer a deputy called and said page out Mercer Fire and Turtle Lake Rescue and Fire. The dispatcher ends up sending out Washburn Rescue which is a long ways away. The next Dept. would be Underwood Rescue. I have people I know that are on Fire Dept. Across the county and when they call in to do a test page or message for a meeting. They tell me when they page then they screw it up bad or they forget to do it and they have to call back. Then the dispatcher get mad at then telling them we were busy. They say the latest new dispatchers are the worst. They go though so many dispatcher they hire ones that are fired from other agencies around the state.
