I've been listening to Black Hawk county fire the last couple days, and have had no luck listening to the fire tone outs for Cedar Falls and Waterloo. I belive they send county volunteer tone outs over alpha paging (and 40710???) but I figured Waterloo and Cedar Falls would be different since they are staffed departments. I thought I would here their tone out traffic on 40701 (WFD Dispatch/paging), 40799 (WFD autopaging), and 40751 (CFFD Dispatch/paging) respectively. But all I've heard is traffic on county main where (Enter unit number) will tell county dispatch that they are enroute then county dispatch will tell them call information. I know they are WFD and CFFD units heading to calls because their units are 3xx or 5xx numbered. Same goes for Mercyloo ambulances. I've heard a single page out over 40709 (Mercy One paging), but I know their have been more calls then that single one since I hear 03x units acknowledging pages over county fire main quite often. I am quite stumped on this one and hope someone who's more familiar with county operations could lend a hand.

Thanks,
Cashanova

Waterloo pages on 40701. Cedar Falls pages on 40751. MercyOne ambulances are paged on 40709. I hear them fine on the BlackHawk Simulcast system.

Interesting. I noticed that the Broadcastify node for Black Hawk County tends to miss some traffic on these TG's too, so maybe due to the nature of the traffic on these talkgroups are not transmitted on all towers.

Edit: I was just checking my talk groups in my Unication G4, where I noticed I was receiving a 700 Mhz frequency. I had put all of my tower information in as wildcards and thus after a few minutes on the Black Hawk Simulcast the pager automatically switched to a different SARA site closer to me that only transmits the Black Hawk fire response channel. I thought that the radio would only scan the control channels that I had listed, not ones from other sites aswell. Thanks for the quick reply though N0ZJT, sorry to start a thread over this little mistake.
