If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Just finished programming the MCS2000 with a ribless connector. The radio will only transmit & receive on the first channel that was programmed. Even in scan mode the radio doesn't transmit or receive the other frequencies. Anybody able to help with this?

A ribless connector for an MCS2000? What does the radio do when you key it up besides not transmitting? Does it make a bonk sound? Any error message the display? You haven't provided much information in order for someone to help you.

Can you provide the specific model of MCS2000 you have? The ID number off the tag on the bottom of the radio would me most helpful along with the flashcode if its on there.

Sorry, I forgot to put in all the necessary information to figure this out. My department switched from an 800 MHz. Trunked System to VHF Analog due to TX issues.

Currently, I am using the MCS2000 with the following information...

R05.28
M01KLM9PW6AN
CNTLHD20
020001-000000-7

The channels have been programmed, but it's only transmitting & receiving on the first programmed frequency. Need some guidance on this. I am using the same CPS software that was used on the old 800 MHz. radio if that matters.

Zone Channel Assignment

All channels currently programmed are assigned to Zone 1 of the radio. Total of 15 channels of which some are CSQ and some PL/DPL. Where can I locate the zone Channel assignment?
