• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules.     If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

MD785G - firmware change went wrong

Hello to all,

Please help..... Yesterday I downloaded the firmware V8.00.06.007 from Hytera Firmware and upgraded my MD785G (DMR UpgradeKIT said that the upgrade was successful). I rebooted the radio and the sound and logo appaired but just after the sound finished - the radio turned off immediately.

I tried to reboot the radio again but nothing changed. After that I put the radio in download mode and tried to reinstall the upgrade. After the first RR read, UpgradeKIT said: DATA IS CORRUPTED and aborted upgrade. :( I tried with different upgrades but had no luck.

I downloaded FlashBurn but I don't know what to do now. I don't have any backup files.
After I did the rcdb_data read, I saw the strings of the upgraded firmware in it (with HEX editor) so the firmware is inside but something is corrupted...

Radio model: MD785-000G0000-001000-U1-L-L


Can anyone help me please?

Does the radio power up so you can read it with CPS? If so then maybe the program / reset default data option might work.
The latest firmware for the MD782i is 9.2.2.004 released Nov 30. It might work on your 785.

Jumping a full version number might be too big, check the read me file, you might have to go to an intermediate firmware first.

CPS was upgraded to 9.2.2.003 for north America.

No. The radio doesn't power on. It just load the logo and than power off.

Where can I download the latest firmware (v9.2.2.003) ?

I only have NA 2 version, you would need EM5. I expect someone in that area will be posting it to a ham site.
I had a client who got some EM5s from China, he had to get CPS from the alibaba seller, I could not help him.

9.02.02.004im firmware and EM5 9.02.02.002im CPS is freely available on line if you search well. Don't want to link in public and original poster I can't PM for some reason.
