just a few things:
1, Firebox, thanks again and great pics. I will let you know about the other rigs.
2, 155.2650, Spill Control. I spoke to all of the guys on the team and noone has any idea where this freq came from. We do not have or operate radios on this freq. This is from guys that have been there since the begining.
3, For those that want it, a little MDE Emergency Response history. We are a team of 6 responders and 1 chief. We cover the entire state 24 -7. This is done Monday - Friday out of our office in Baltimore at the old Montgomery Wards Building. Nights weekends and Holidays the trucks go home with us and we respond from where ever we are. MDE responds to about 600 - 700 calls a year. The radios, well the system that is in the trucks are old and in the process of being up graded. We have all of the fire departments in the state, as well as MSP, Marine channels, CSX, and fire departments that border Maryland, in the console done on 3 radios. A low band a high band and a vhf. I am working on getting good pics of the console to post here soon. We have the ability to Rx and Tx on most of the freqs that we have. We are currently in the process of having programmed the new 800mhz portables that will allow us to talk direct to just about every jurisdiction in the state that is on 800mhz. Paperwork and lawyers are making this a long process. We also maintain scanners in the trucks as well as CB's. We have a few freqs that we operate on for inner team comms. I am not at liberty to give these freqs out. We retain these to keep comms as private as possible. I understand that there are ways that they can be obtained but our policy is to protect them as best we can. The are not on a any tower and for the most part are truck to truck, or hip to hip. In addition each member of the team is issued a Nextel and Cingular phone and a pager that they are required to keep with them at all times.
Hope this helps even thought I was not able to give new freqs for those that wanted them
