Does the Number of systems and groups are stored in a scanner affect battery life?

My thinking is since additional data takes up additional memory, there might be an impact on battery life, regardless if the systems or groups are active during scanning.

Does this question make sense? I'm assuming that the drain on the battery is so nominal that it is almost nonexistent?

I would think that monitoring more systems would mean more activity vs scanning and that is what would effect battery life. Not necessarily the storage itself.

The presence or absence of data does not effect the current consumption of the memory. Accessing the data will, to a small extent. Data is stored in memory locations by either an "on" or "off" condition and memory that has no data stored in it is still either "on" or "off".

No battery power is used to maintain stored information. It IS used when accessing or storing the memory. That's why memory cards don't have batteries.
