Man, what kind of MORONS do we have here?

First off, who appointed you the moral radio police? We all know the legality of what we do. I'm sure NO ONE here has ever used a radio illegally. To quote the scripture - He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Secondly, who cares if the man has enough money to buy a MB ML350? I say MORE POWER to him! He put in 30+ years of his life, made an excellent living off of it and bought a nice vehicle. What do you have to show? I guess I'm the next to be slammed, because I retired as a manager for at top 10 Fortune 500 company, and I stroked out a check to buy my wife a BRAND NEW car on August 8th. I EARNED what I got and so did he.

Third and final, bring back the pictures! I would love to see them as well. I have had CComm911 do work on my vehicle and he does about the best work around!

Ok, we silly hammies listen up.... Is it illegal to transmit on that radio out of band? Yes it is....... How many of you actually do it? I would say 90-99% of you! Why do we insist of citing the rules when we ourselves don't follow them? I am guilty as such as well. We are trying to make ourselves look great but what does that do? It diminishes your own integrity!

So lets grow a set and confess that while it is illegal to do so, just like using a turn signal or speeding we are all guilty of it!!!!

Sorry just had to get that in there.....

While you might not care about regs and laws, many of us do. So before you assume I do something illegal, think twice. Some of us have a personal code we follow, but many will never understand.

Oh, I also use my turn signals all the time too....

How about you also act in line? All of you who've started something on this thread should... From the poster, to 3 others who posted... Stop fighting like girls.... Really, do you guys need some midol?

Plus grog, you've done nothing but snap... He wasn't directly addressing you, you really didn't need to reply. As Tommahawk said, lets grow a set of balls... chill out and if that's just not possible, go take care of it somewhere else

The person I quoted claimed that 90-99% of the hams used their ham rigs outside of the hamband in an illegal manner and I (and others) take great offense at that.

Just because some hams do not care about doing what is right, does to mean I have to lower to that standard.

If someone said that 90-99% of cops of firefighters broke the law as a natural course of their job, there would be flames shooting all over on this site. Making a general statement like that is just as offensive to cops and firefighters as the other statement about hams breaking the law.

As for the OP, he removed his pics, not anyone else. He also used his radio in an illegal manner, and I truly did not know if it knew it was illegal, but now he does. The dealer who sold him the radio should look at how they do business.

Be nice...

Maybe I'm wrong, but, I think the guy started off with good intentions.

His Amateur radio ALREADY worked on RX on the stuff above & below the Amateur freqs. Mine does. Hears great but won't TX.

I don't think he was meaning to "bragg" about having this big ole modified Amateur radio. I don't think he has a clue as to what a modified radio is or does.

The guy sounded to me like he was just a scanner hobbiest, a little behind the curve maybe, but, just doing what we all enjoy....LISTENING....

Then, a poster started in on him. SEVERAL piled on. Probably embarrassed him. Probably made him mad....

Maybe that was all your goals, those of you who chimed in. Slam him real good for everyone so they could see just how smart you were.....

I hope you had fun.

Maybe one of the Mods will just delete this whole posting!!!!

Better yet, let the Moderators blow off this thread, let MetroFire31 repost and then LOCK the thread! That way our self proclaimed GODS will have to go elsewhere to pedal their dribble!

It's truly a shame that for those of us who want to see the pictures of installations have to put up with their better than thou attitudes. Maybe the moderators ought to censor them for a while and let the rest of us ENJOY the post.

And some people want to know why I don't want to be an amateur radio operator (because of the few rotten apples that spoil it for everyone else).

Actually according to part 97 rules, it is LEGAL for hams to transmit out of band, BUT certain conditions have to be met first.
If it is an emergency and there is no other available means of communications, for example you are out in the back country, you can hear the police, on the radio loud and clear, and you just saw a rollover accident, and smoke coming from the vehicle, you cellphone doesn't have a usable signal, and there is nobody monitoring the repeater you use, then you have the right to use what ever means you can to contact the police.
This is the only type of situation where you can legally transmit out of band.

Hmmm.. Were showing before my post - probably in my cache..
Again: It WAS a nice installation job, per se. Nicer than my rolling comm-center that lives almost permanently in the garage, now (9 MPG)....

'nuff sed...

The original Post DOES indeed have pictures. - A nice installation, actually..

Go back to the 1st message to see them. (Unless it has been deleted?)
