• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Anyone have any suggestions on monitoring the Mesa area? Using the 996 or the 396

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
Get a good antenna and pray to the scanner gods.

Seriously, the system is a tough one to monitor, but if you can get a good signal you'll be OK.

I assume you know the frequencies and talkgroups to program in? If not, the RRDB listing is very complete for Mesa. You'll find them listed in the Phoenix PRWN system. Don't bother to program in the talkgroups that are marked as encrypted in the RRDB - They are truly encrypted! :D You'll want to program Gilbert in also, they share the system and often assist mesa units, and vice versa.

Good luck... you're gonna need it.
