MetroSafe is Phase 1, I don’t know if any talk groups that are Phase 2 but I’ve heard of some decoding programs decoding the systems as such.
Bullitt County uses the Metrosafe system; there talkgroups are in the database.
Your phase 1 scanner should work just fine.

Although the system does not have any Phase 2 talkgroups SDRTrunk has indicated TDMA under site details. Due to this the system type was updated to Phase 2 but operates in Phase 1

Thanks for the quick response guys! I noted Bullitt transitioned a while back after the old conventional freqs went silent. I'll add the system at the first opportunity.

All the talkgroups are currently FDMA. At this time MetroSafe is working to convert the system to TDMA. The system is ready for TDMA but many units do not have TDMA capable radios. There is not time frame when TG’s will be TDMA

Yeah, the system/infrastructure is Phase 2 capable. However there are many mobiles and portables in use that are Phase 1 capable, only.

Given the cost to replace those Phase 1 mobiles/portables and many other voices clamoring for addition funding, I doubt changes are in the near future.

My focus is Jefferson and Bullitt Counties. It's been obvious from the silence my last several trips to Shepherdsville that Bullitt County has shifted their ops to Metrosafe from their old freqs.

That is correct. EMS is encrypted along other talkgroups. Police 1 and all fire talkgroups are in the clear.
