Does anyone know what is going on with MDFR Central Dispatch tonight? It sounds like someone is reading entire chapters from a book. Are they intentionally interfering with MDFR, or are they doing some testing?

They could be playing the Harvard Sentences for drive testing?
I had to look that up. It looks similar to what I was hearing last night. In 40+ years of scanning, I had never come across anything like that.

It is more common among cellular carriers, but this is the third time in recent months that I've seen references to it being used for 2-way LMR testing, so maybe it is A Thing now?

FYI

From April 16th – 26th improvements will be made to the radio system that will require the temporary
“outage” of the TAC-1 and NORTH channels.

From April 16th – 21st TAC-1 will be upgraded. Units normally on the NORTH channel will operate on
COUNTYWIDE for dispatch, and NORTH and TAC-2 will be utilized for assignments. This change will
provide optimum in-building coverage for firefighting assignments.

From April 22nd – 26th NORTH will be upgraded. The NORTH units will stay on COUNTYWIDE, and
TAC-1 and TAC-2 will be utilized for assignments.
