155.175 100.0 PL i think. I can hear the dispatcher at all times, but I don't hear the ambulances/medics. If a rig is dispatched to my town, I don't hear their transmition saying that they're en route, I only hear them once they arrive and are in my town. Or when they're on the road driving, the signal is breaking up and weak. I use stock ducks and RH77CA which helps a little bit but still can't hear the ambulances that are not in my area. Anyone experiencing this?

This is base to mobile and mobile to base simplex operation. The base can receive the mobile just fine due to them having an antenna on top of a very high tower or building. You on the other hand cannot hear the mobile due to how close to the ground you are.

If you do a search on the FCC's database under callsign WPCC879 you will see that MICCOM has several transmitter/receiver sites that also aid in them receiving simplex signals. They do not only transmit from their dispatch location.

MICCOM dispatches their units on 155.175 witl pl of 100.0 they will call in to MICCOM that they are responding then will switch to the town that they are responding to channel (either PD or EMS channel) and communicate with that t own. For example:

155.175 MICCOM to 401. 401 respond in paramus rte 17 S at Midland Ave for the trauma.
155.175 401 responding
155.175 401 your responding to Paramus rte 17 S at Midland Ave for the MVA
155.295 401 to Paramus
155.295 Go to Paramus
155.295 401 is responding rte 17S at Midland
155.295 Paramus received....etc

I think you simply need a better antenna like fineshot1 said. Your range of reception on simplex is very limited no matter what frequency you are tuned to with a stock rubber duck antenna. Maybe put a mobile antenna or a discone or anything in your attic or outside the window, your reception will be much better.
