Chesterfield Listening

HI,
I live in Chesterfield Township (next to New Baltimore) and I’m fairly new to trunk scanning. I recently purchased a new Uniden BCD996XT and am now involved in a steep learning curve with respect to operation and programming this scanner. I’m using ProSCAN and FreeSCAN but “Systems” , “Groups”, & “Channels” tend to confuse my aged mind! Direct Memery Access (DMA), huh. . .

I’m currently listening to a lot of Southeast Michigan talk groups preprogrammed under Michigan MPSCS using only the included OEM antenna. I renewed my RR Premium subscription today so hopefully I’ll be downloading some addition system data in the near future (once I learn how to do it with ProSCAN).

I am from rural Gratiot County, and do not have a digital scanner. I listen to Gratiot and Isabella county central dispatch which generally covers fire/rescue, local police as well as county and state calls.

I monitor some Midland county fire/rescue and sometimes Soaring Eagle Casino/resort and Central Michigan University PD. I also listen regularly to the St. Louis Correctional Facility. Looking forward to one day being able to afford a digital scanner as I'd like to once again be able to hear MMR (ambulance).

I am really enjoying RR - just found it. I am able to listen to traffic in CT where one of my kids recently moved - that is amazing to me! Thanks to all who make this available!

Been on the forums for a few months now, just came across this thread. (Great idea, BTW.)

I am located in Calhoun County & monitor the following:
All public safety in my county except for the law enforcement which is encrypted.
MPSCS off 7 or 8 towers.
Local air (WK Kellogg & Kalamazoo Airports, & Battle Creek ANG) / Military air with the PRO-2004 when I can.
School buses.
DPW/Road Commission/MDOT
Consumers Energy.

I'm also a ham/SKYWARN storm spotter, & check into the net when weather's a- poppin'.

I also take the scanner & 2m handheld with me whenever I travel, & monitor enroute & at my destination. (Love the "V-scanner" feature of the PRO-96!)

I live in Au Gres (hour north of Bay City). During the summer months I monitor conventional stuff in Arenac County (Sheriff, FDs, EMS, some marine/Coast Guard) using RS Pro-2052 and roof-mounted discone. Currently in South Texas and monitoring Hidalgo County SO, trunked Mission and McAllen PD/FD, and local airport.

Big thanks to whoever provides the RR Live Feed from Ogemaw County as it provides a link to stay in touch with what's happening back home during the winter.

I moved from Macomb County to just west of Pinconning, in the corner of Bay county, The scanning is not as active as down state, as far and police monitoring goes. But I listen to all of mid-Michigan now, so it's not bad.

I live in Genesee County, in Fenton. Moved back from 3 & 1/2 years in Nashville, TN. Originally from Macomb County, MI for 41 years.

Listen to the usual, P.D., F.D., State, E.M.S. and when I get in the mood, will search around just to see what I can find. Sometimes listen to ham stuff, but am big into SkyWarn.

Just dusting off the old radios to see what we can still pick up. It looks like a lot has changed in a few years time.

We usually listen to the local PD/Fire, Oakland County Sheriff, weather, railroads and a bit of aviation.
