1150 EDT AF1 getting ready to pass overhead

I haven't seen the E-4B yet and Acars showed a KECK-11 KC-46 #21-46060 pinging from McGuire.
Maybe no rush as AF-1 will make fuel stop at EGUN tonight over there...
Two backups #09-0016 and #09-0017 in chase.

It was done for a different reason but this page might be of use
Be sure to scroll down as the last few messages for the airframes is shown. Also worth noting the ICAO address of interest and adding it on the 'search' page (via top left menu bars). The E4s usually have their route uploaded via INMARSAT Aero.

Getting Radio traffic on 281.000 on my jersey shore radio. One call sign was VIPER. I have this frequency listed as an AR Tanker Common.

Does anyone else have it listed as something different?

Also, earlier today there were 2 HC-130j's (11-5765 & 12-5773 as (King31 & King32) passing this area returning to Moody AFB. Caught them on 225.4500 A2A with each other.

I have been tracking the 305th AMW KC-46's and have noticed some possible changes to aircraft assignments and use.

19-46064 - Has not flown since 09/27/24
19-46071 - Has not flown since 01/02/25

15-46010 - Has been operating from McConnell AFB since 11/20/24
19-46063 - Has been operating from McConnell AFB since 11/27/24
21-46057 - Has been operating from Altus AFB since 4/15/25

18-46043 - Assigned to Altus AFB has been operating from McGuire since 04/02/25

There are 12 KC-46's in various stages of construction & flight testing at Boeing. Some have been flying from Whiteman AFB. These aircraft have not been accepted by the Air Force as of this time. The HEX Codes seem to be from older T-38A's

21-46097 AE63CD - has 14 test flights at Boeing
21-46098 AE63CE - has 10 test flights at Boeing
22-46099 AE63CF - has 5 test flights at Boeing, Unknown flights at Whitman. WM206 last on 05/12/25.
22-46100 AE63D0 - has 8 test flights at Boeing, 5 flights as WX265 and then returned to Boeing.
22-46101 AE63D1 - has 11 test flights at Boeing, 4 flights as WM268 last on 05/09/25.
22-46102 AE63D2 - has 4 test flights at Boeing only.
22-46103 AE63D3 - has 5 test flights at Boeing only.
22-46104 AE63D4 - has 3 test flights at Boeing only.
22-46105 AE63D5 - Unknown Boeing test flights, numerous test flights as CLUE1 Whiteman AFB to Forbes Fld., last 05/12/25
22-46106 AE63D6 - has 0 test flights at Boeing.
22-46107 AE63D7 - has 0 test flights at Boeing.
22-46108 AE???? - has 0 test flights at Boeing.

Is it possible the HEX codes are still in use with the T-38's and have not been transferred to the KC-46's yet?

DOC the B-29 Superfortress flew over while I was walking to the post office. It landed at KILG and will be doing ride flights tomorrow and Wednesday at 6 and 7 pm. I'll have to figure out wind direction and runway usage - hopefully this photo op plays out... The aircraft will then move on to the McGuire show this weekend.

The 305th swapped 21-46057 with the Altus 18-46043 tail about six weeks back, permanently. I'm not positive on any of the others. 15-46010 was a temporary "flagship" jet for the 305th last May/June as the tail was decorated with the WWII-era 305th Bomb Group "G." 19-46063 was also getting lots of flight hours while it was at McGuire.

It is possible that these jets were moved to McConnell permanently, but there's also the possibility that they're undergoing test/eval of some future tech. McConnell's 22ARW has been responsible for getting the WARPS to the KC-46 fleet, among other technology advancements. The WARPS would provide two additional drouge locations on the aircraft, in addition to the existing centerline drogue.

Sidenote - GRIM99 now eastbound over Iowa. ACARS shows KECK11 from KWRI and KECK12 from KPSM.

Can't speak for all thread regulars, but work it out, I miss your photos.

Thank you kindly! I actually had surgery some days back, so follow-up with surgeon tomorrow and hopefully I get the green light to hit McGuire this weekend dragging all my gear around.

Meanwhile, of course, I had to head over to KILG for a close encounter ;)

Maybe tail swap for GRIM-99? Was an AR-20E Res this morning nothing seen and now another evening AR-20E has
gone up for GRIM-99 #73-1677 who is tanking with the KECK's for same LGSA destination as first supposed E-4B.
TEDDY-11 is for C-17 #07-7184 RCH-6002 out of Pope AAF.
Earlier was another out of Pope RCH-6001 C-17 #98-0054 up that way no tanker doing a more polar route.

Couple more Army USAF C-17 transports tonight all headed for ENDO Bardufoss Air Station Norway.
RCH-6005 #07-7188
RCH-6004 #09-9208
Guess time for some US Army Arctic jump training up near Northern Norway coast.. Not too far from Murmansk Russia :)
In the first major event commencing Defender 25, paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division will deploy from the US and conduct
a direct airborne jump into Norway.

Reuters news reports today US says B-2's are soon done at Diego Garcia to be replaced by Buffs.
Maybe why all the C-17's out of KBAD last week.
