1032 - Bell 407 N6YJ out of Ft. Eustis KFAF Felker, doing what would appear to be touch and goes in a racetrack pattern at a random dirt path in Surry, VA, somewhat near the nuclear plant. Latest photos in 2016 show it wearing a red and black livery with a very generic “NEWS” on the side. Seems weird that a ‘news’ bird would be flying out of a military airfield known to use 407s for secretive work.

Heard him on UHF and then VHF working ZDC. He was nearby, which meant that I heard him on a rubber ducky. AF2 ditto yesterday. Ducky action in West Virginia. Who'd a thunk it?

There's a couple of LiveATC feeds at Cherry Point that cover that airspace. RHINO 45 working Giant Killer mentioned they would be entering the "Razor Talon Airspace" as part of the "Large Force Excercise" in W122. Googling Razor Talon and it seems to be a regular event. DVIDS

Other particpants heard were DOOM 61 B-52 RTB KBAD, TIGER 11 (x2) RTB KNKT, BADGER 41 (x4) and CHIEF 13.
