Davis Monthan A10s sleeping here for a bit before going to Europe. First batch left yesterday morning, I think the others left this morning

Xtremey,

Many thanks for information. Even with living right next to Martin State not home enough to know want is going on and it's back to Richmond tomorrow in the work truck.

I did notice tonight that Davis Mountain A10s are a darker shade of grey, than the Martin State ones.

Some of the visiting A10s are still here.

NOTAM posted yesterday evening for KMDT Harrisburg shows that their ATC is apparently going deaf for 30 minutes on October 8 from 2030L to 2100L. But that's not the interesting thing. What caught my attention is that it affects...and shows...ALL their freqs, VHF and UHF.

VHF out of service will be 118.25 [per the FAA's FRQ_CSV file: Approach primary compass heading 001 degree to 79 degrees], 121.5, 121.7 [Ground primary], 124.1 [approach/departure primary 180 degrees to 309 degrees], 124.8 [tower primary], 126.45 [approach/departure primary 80 degrees to 179 degrees], and 128.075 [not listed. Spare?]

UHF out of service will be 243.0, 269.35 [per the FAA's FRQ_CSV file: tower primary], 269.45 [approach/departure primary 310 degrees to 79 degrees], 273.525 [approach/departure primary 211 degrees to 360 degrees], 281.525 [approach/departure primary 80 degrees to 179 degrees], 317.4 [not listed. Spare?], 348.6 [Ground primary].
Sounds like some local based electricians or Power company making a switchover..

In the last 2-3 weeks I've noticed that I'm not hearing as much Langley A2A activity ind W386 as I used to. I see the T-38s out there but not hearing A2A between them and the F-22s. Have they changed freqs or is something amiss with my equipment? Maybe the VA guys can help?

1439L - AC-130J Ghostrider circling Fort Story out of KNTU Oceana at pivotal altitude 8725 in a left bank. About 28 circles. With all the special operations planes flying in to Oceana, something interesting’s happening. Anyone in VB catch anything?
Found this from last year. Two C-17s from Charleston mentioned - IMPAC71 and XXX a few days ago. Exercise involving DEVGRU and 160th SOAR. Maybe I can make it down to the waterfront for a bit.

DECOY-38, a C-17 #89-1190, left KMRB this morning and is now landing at Lakehurst. Made a low pass over my house earlier this morning for terrain avoidance.

Carrier already working off North Carolina... Lots of room for those Marine Ospreys..

Hearing them now working W-386 offshore but F-22's have been less busy the last couple weeks.
Hearing some F-22 coms on 262.025,315.800 and A/A 255.650 7th FTS T-38's?
Coms seem weaker than usual.. Maybe when leaves drop off trees will get better :)

1718L - C-17 NIFTY99 into KNTU Oceana from Charleston AFB. Looks like the exercise is winding down - heard from a few friends on the waterfront that they saw MH-6s and CCA boats - figured that’s what the C-17 over the Atlantic was dropping.

Maybe that's my problem. Eastward from my QTH I have several very tall 100 yr old oaks, full of leaves, only 100-150 yds from my house. I keep hoping my neighbors tire of them being on their property and have them cut down. ;)

Two MH-6 Little Birds and a MH-60 just south of Fort Story. Couldn't make it out but a friend got this.

dropped by SBY a few days ago
says 'Clearwater' up front
Very nice! but Fence pole blocks tail # but assume C-27J #2709.
Soon to be upgraded to HC-27J mission ready.Maybe headed to Pax river.. They have been working on this upgrade program for a long time.
Seems like yesterday Martin State airport had squad of USAF C-27J's but the USAF didn't like them so transferred to Army and USCG.
