OT: The Old Ex USS JFK carrier will be leaving/towed from Philly for Texas scrap yard tomorrow morning.
I remember going out to Delaware river a ways back when they towed it up the river. That drew quite a crowd.
Several times over these past years heard out of town Potus CAP pilots asking what carrier is that down there?

According to this official site, this is happening today (the date on this release was yesterday, so current):

Ex-USS John F. Kennedy to Commence Final Transit, Jan. 15

UPDATE: The move was scheduled to happen on Wednesday but has now been delayed until Thursday, officials told Action News.

AND: Navy officials originally planned for the ship to leave Philadelphia on Wednesday, but high winds in the region led to a one-day postponement. The trip to to Brownsville, Texas, is expected to take at least two weeks. Navy officials did not immediately provide a schedule for the ship's departure on Thursday.

I have a meeting west of Philly with three other people to deal with my mother's estate, which will keep me out of New Castle until at least noon tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a slow tow - I'll be very aggravated if I miss this  I'd appreciate any timing updates if anyone hears anything.

Took a tour of the Kennedy when it was in Phila Naval Shipyard back in the early to mid 90s when it was in for extended maintenance.
Old company president was a neighbor of the ship's captain.

Hopefully the weather is clear - will try to spot it with the roof cam once down in the lower Delaware Bay

New York ANG C-17's coming in from St Croix to Andrews bringing in folks from the Virgin Islands?
GOTHAM 62,63,64. Hope they like cold weather..
Temps for Monday Inaugural Parade look chilly between 25 and 30.
I remember Reagan Inaugural parade Jan 1985 was scratched cause temps were single digits and windy.
The Alaska sled dog teams said they were good to go on parade as no problem but no dice LOL.

There is a PITT-96 C-17 out of Pittsburgh headed to Elmendorf now.. Maybe they will bring some folks in.
Monday security DC TFR just up.. From surface to unlimited. 5/3852 NOTAM Details

The registration N500DC comes back to a Hughes 500 helicopter. But the information box says N31EJ. Error?
N31EJ was an MQ9 assigned to CBP AMO out of Fort Huachuca. It crashed on decent on 15 May 2023. (Accident General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper N31EJ, Monday 15 May 2023) I've had the ICAO hex in my ADS-B filters and have recently shown it operating in the PA area for about a week or so now. Speeds and altitudes are more consistent with the MD-500 the N500DC registration comes back to. My guess is the MD inherited the old Mode-S code and the databases haven't caught up yet.

1605- Gotham 63 working ADW CP (378.1). Advises they offloaded 68 pax.
Rgr Ron heard more of that conversation later as they asked GOTHAM-63 about the delay.
GOTHAM-63 replied we got held up in St Croix by late Customs awaiting on pax for over an hour.
Andrews seemed to demand an explanation for tardiness.:)

that was this one

Judging by that Navy tail number 170754 a brand new one?

Aussies need those MQ4-C Reapers as a lot of ocean to cover... Maybe get Aussie ping on delivery someday.
They sure like US Mil gear.. C-17's,F-35's Navy P-8s and soon Virginia class subs.

OT: Blue Origin rocket gonna try again late tonight 1am+ at Cape Canaveral.
5 recent postponements and all still launching way overnight early AM...Almost seems like they don't want anyone to see it.
Rocket uses LNG and Liquid oxygen rather than kerosene on Space X. Makes for more blue color rocket propulsion.
