Middle Twp. Pd

I am getting 154.875 in Digital today. I havent seen the Digital used since the summer. I think they are testing the system now. I hear them talking about what X streets they are at and how they hear them. If anyone knows more info. please inform.

IIRC, wasn't Middle Twp operating in Aegis or ProVoice digital (neither of which can be monitored)? Were you able to hear them in digital or was it analog when the were testing? Does this now mean that Middle Twp has actually upgraded to P-25 instead?

I was getting it with my 796d, it was showing p-25 when they were testing. My 2055 was getting just noise, so they were in digital.

Keep an eye on it. It would be nice if they were now Moto Digital rather than Pvoice or Aegis.

Hi All,

Unfortunately I hear they will eventually be doing the same as Pennsauken - Conventional P25 digital and encrypted. Sorry bout the bad news.

Given the high crime nature of Middle Twp and surrounding communities it's no wonder they are going encrypted.

If you think Middle and surrounding areas have high crime, you must live in Disney Land. I have lived in MD, FL and North Jersey, when you have to shut off PD channels because they wouldnt stop all night that is high crime. There is no need for Middle to be digital in the first place. No other PD or FD is even on 800mhz down here. Plus a lot of the PD in the area hate the fact that they cant communicate with middle. It is not safe to relay info to dispatcher, then dispatch relay it to other dispatch, then to officers. It takes too long and is not needed.

Agreed. But unless the police chiefs of these communities are educated of these facts, more departments will elect to encrypt their comms.

It's our responsibility to do the educating - scanner owners in their respective communities should let their police chiefs know that open (unencrypted) police dispatch has more advantages than disadvantages.

BTW, if the Pennsauken and Middle Twp. systems are successful, we may see more of these closed systems sold in the area by the vendor.

Actually, I was just kidding.
I agree there is no good reason to go full time ENC.

I spent 15 summers in Avalon and Sea Isle and they were pretty quiet except for catching the speeders and drunks...or dealing with the occasional drunk boater that put their craft in the marshes @ 3am in the back bays which Avalon didn't want to deal with. (Technically Middle twp I guess)

Yes they are still using 151.385, they were testing the digital chan.
