If anyone is interested (not pleasant to listen to) , 383.5500 (FM) LOUD and clear today (data stream), I swear he must be parked on my roof. When they are up in this area , it will literally go on for 6-12 hours sometimes.

Also heard HUSKER 15 up the other day (12-17-19) on AR 406 (P) and AR 406 (S).
Meant to post earlier in the week, but I caught a weak transmission around 8AM on 311.00 (might of been 252.9, had two scanners going), and I swear the pilot said 34 souls on board. Anyone have any idea on that one?

I wonder they moved to from 397.050. BTW I caught the tail end of a transmission on 252.1 which I have labeled as 305th ARW Command Post at Grissom ANGB on 12/18.

Yep, 383.5500 is pretty much the only freq. I ever hear the data on. And like I said it's maximum bars for hours on end sometimes, the wife REALLY likes that sound.

Interesting on your 252.1. I was using my 396T and I have old labels on some of the freq. I had it labeled as USAF Command , and it was 252.1 not 252.9 , my mistake (typo in earlier post). Strange , must have been the same conversation-----if it was them , they would have the right aircraft for "34 souls" that's for sure.

Anyone else able to hear the data stream on 383.5500 today ? 10AM my time still going an hour or so later. It has a different sound today than the normal one I always hear.

Yesterday I did hear HOOVER 55 up, If I understand right , that is a trainer for E4-E6 crews. Maybe that has something to do with it?? Very strange signal today.

Just checked ADS-B. There is a Navy E-6 (callsign TITHE17) in the air over Iowa. You’re hearing a TACAMO data channel. I hear it every time one of the “doomsday” planes is in the air over the region.

Thanks for the reply-----wanted to make sure it wasn't me or my radios. This sound is a lot different than the normal one I hear. Since it's an E6, and I usually hear the E4 ------are their tones different? I do hear those a lot on 383.550, just different today.

HOOVER callsign is an RC or TC-135, so not a trainer for the E4/6 guys.
Thanks for the reply autovon, saw that on one of the "callsign lists" that floats around the internet. Maybe trainer for the RC-135's?

That one can be assigned to a RC-135 or TC-135. So the full up RC or the trainer TC (RC-135 trainer). I'm pretty sure the HOOVER55 you heard was returning from overseas that day. The day to day callsigns for the RC/TC/OC/WC-135s are HOOVER, SNOOP, TOPCAT, and COBRA.

Makes sense , I have heard SNOOP, and TOPCAT before also. Since putting AR406 and AR16 in my scan (as you suggested a few pages back), I have been able to hear quite a bit more traffic. Kind of odd, since AR105 is closer. As I type 383.550 is busy again same tone as the other day, different from what I normally hear. This tone is much lower , and more jack hammer like.

Open carrier on 323.8. Typically used by the E-6. One just departed Offutt and an E-4 inbound also. 344.4, 366.6, & 383.55 all active with datalinks.

The carrier is back on 323.8 and the E-4 just departed Offutt again, so it's likely them.

US Stratcom has large exercise up so expect more USAF heavies over the weekend.

Has anyone ever caught anything on 245.600? All I heard today was something about "being at 31, and turning around". I assume 31,000 ft. , but just guessing.

Also E6 up, data stream off and on all day, TYLER06. Steady data on 383.5500 ---LOUD and clear, pegged my radios (396T, and Kenwood TH-F6) strength meters.
