VOLK airspace active again. Caught EDDIE and BREWR KC-135s coordinating on 123.45. Looks like there are 3 tankers up right now.

I have ACM/Radar intercepts (with one FJ being the AWACS) on 319.025 and A2A comms (306.700), monitoring from south of Chicago.

Which MOA is 319.025 assigned to so I can put a tag on it LOL. I can't find it on RR except as Volk TAC.

Depends on a lot of things; the planes altitude and my antenna and radio set up. I am at the very limit of what I can receive here.

I'm 230mi from Volk. I'm hearing these guys weakly on my Icom R8600 and DPD Miltenna. The radios on the 300MHz dipole and LNA can't hear them hardly at all, but that's more a radio issue than an antenna issue (Icom R7000 and 8500)

I have actually had decent success with just a old 5/8 wave two mtr 440 in a garage obviously not ideal lol. When "rib mtn" is mentioned is that just a specific flight pattern or are they actually going by Rib.

I'm not sure about Rib mtn, I'm not familiar with WI military activity. This is the first time I'm hearing anything except air to air refuelling from Wisconsin. lol.

Living next to Chicago and its many airports the most exciting thing I see or hear is an E6 or some transiting B2 bombers.

I used to live in Louisville KY which wasn't bad and before that, the UK - I was so spoiled living there. AWACS orbit areas, refuelling tracks, MOAs/MTAs.

306.7 is being used by the F-16s from Duluth that are participating.

Other frequencies in use: 253.975 (Madison F-35s), 288.5, 346.525 (Phoenix - ATC for the MOA), and 348.3.

The F-35s go silent once the fighting starts and seem to be using a frequency-hopping system.

Rib Mountain is being referenced as a location to setup air refueling tracks. There are typically two tracks used during exercises, Rib Mountain and Oshkosh. Rib Mountain is an orbit centered around Wausau/Rib Mountain. Oshkosh is typically an orbit around Lake Winnebago. They seem to be using exclusively Rib Mountain this week. I monitored most of the activity today, with the majority of activity occurring on the aforementioned 319.025, hearing all groups active, Badger (WI F35s), Bone (95th FS F35s), and Wolf (Duluth F16s).

If it's actually a frequency hopping mode they are using. It's most likely SATURN. It's completely unmoniterable.

How far of a radius is the orbit
