Just popped into the shack and some nice MILAIR going on. Sounds like the MSN guys are doing some practice intercepts on 123.1 with CAP4828 (Cessna 182). JUDGE72 also up 260.9. A few other other common MSN frequencies were in use earlier in the day. 228.9, 260.9, 335.8 (ATC). Also a KC-135 on 396.2 setting up for air refueling.

ETA: Now doing practice intercept on F-16s; might be the Toledo boys heading home.

Remember the annual exercise coming up next month at Volk.

Seems they were practicing enforcement of the TFR over the RNC in Milwaukee. That TFR goes up for real at 3:00 PM on 7/14 and stays in place until 11:00 PM on 7/18.

Ah, nice add. I forgot that was going on; makes sense. Maybe some good listening upcoming.

P.S. Rivet Joint rules!

Pretty sure that CAP over Milwaukee is using frequency hopping for this mission.

Hearing plenty of NG, ANG, and Refueling Ops, but Combat Air Patrol/Huntress/NORAD are not on the "normal" frequencies.

260.9 and 228.9 have been dead quiet for me despite hearing Huntress and Noble with refueling and ATC lima charlie (loud and clear)... Weird.

I just heard an aircraft check in on 260.9000 for RNC CAP. They were talking to what sounded like "Yardstick?" Not sure if this is the Controller call of the day or not.

They intercepted a Vans rv-6 as it flew northwest then north through the TFR. Interceptor called out on Guard and instructed to turn to the west. The aircraft failed to comply and was shadowed until it exited the TFR to the north.
