Minneapolis

I live right next to Minneapolis and have been trying to use SDRtrunk to hear radio traffic but its full of errors. I'm not sure what frequencies to use but the Minneapolis N - S Simulcast looks close to me. But I'm confused how it sounds so bad on a SDR but fine on my BCD996XT. Have a better antenna on the SDR than old scanner.

You have SDRTrunk configured correctly?

you may need to figure out and set the offset for your particular SDR.

Not sure which SDR you have and how good its frequency drift is, but I agree with Todd that you probably have the channel set to C4FM and need to switch to LSM (AKA Simulcast).

I'd also be curious what "right next to" means. It can be difficult to pick those towers up anywhere outside of Minneapolis.
