I can't figure this one out.. I have noticed over the past two weeks that when I have the Winamp version of my stream running, it has a somewhat constant delay between when the sound comes through the scanner to when I get it through the stream.. Its roughly 1-2 minutes regardless of how long the stream has been running..

However with the mobile clients like Scanner Radio Pro, the delay starts out at the normal 1-2 minutes (it is nearly sychronized with Winamp) and then it slowly starts getting longer and longer.. The longer the client runs, the longer the delay gets.. It's been adding about 2-3 minutes per hour that the program is running.. If I leave it running all day it can get delayed over 40 minutes behind the Winamp feeds by the end of the day (evidenced by the timestamping). If I restart the app and stream, it goes back to nearly synchronized and the cycle repeats.. Any clue what's causing this?

I think it is probably a streaming delay due to slower mobile internet speeds. If your internet is not sufficient to keep up with live streams, it will pause the stream for a few seconds (much like a Youtube video buffering would) as it attempts to catch up to the live stream.

I don't think that's it.. It happens even when connected to WiFi (the same WiFi that the Winamp stream is coming over - and I have a 10Mbps fiber connection), and it starts to happen basically immediately. It starts out synchronized, and within a few minutes it gets to be 10-15 Seconds behind..

My 3g speeds are in the 1-1.5Mbps range too which shouldn't have any problems with a 16kbps stream..

Sent from my Galaxy SII using some Tappity Talkity thing.

It happens the longer you listen or the more people join. It normally runs about 30 seconds behind, that's just the nature of live audio streaming. During Hurricane Sandy, my feed had a large amount of people listening (500+) but the feed audio was approaching 7 minutes behind actual transmission (this was server side, as any way I tried listening to it resulted the same). It was bad enough I actually reset the feed around 3am to keep the audio from drifting further and after that it was normal.

Except none of those things are true for me. I don't have lots of people listening, it happens even when there is no crisis going on.and its only on the mobile client. If I listen via winamp on the computer, it never lags.

For the past week I've actually been using a new client called MyScanner made by a member on here (bondi) and it doesnt seem to have that problem.. so whatever he did differently keeps the delay from creeping in.

I dunno..
