To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I use a Lido seat wedge to hold the G4 or G5.
It's designed for HTs and the pager stays on petty well. The pager belt clip is too wide to fit in the slot, but holds alright clipped on it.
Since now have two one sometimes just lives in the cupholder, now have another. When brought the mount only had the G4.

Proclipusa had vehicle specific mounts, universal mounts, etc. I use them all the time and avoids having to drill holes.

The amplified charger works fine using a vehicle's 12vdc power. You can connect an external mobile antenna to the BNC connector on the amplified charger. With the 700/800 MHz antenna removed, my pager shows out of range on my local 800 MHz system. When I drop the pager into my amplified charger, I get full signal bars using the VHF 1/4 wave antenna on the back of the amplified charger. The amplified charger will fit in the center console in a lot of vehicles.

I initially tried the amplified charger route in a vehicle - ended up removing it in the end. I was having issues with going out of range, and when I pulled it out of the charger, i would go back into range. I suspect I was ending up with too strong a signal in places that it would end up losing lock. Back to just clipping to the visor.
But worth trying, see if it works out in your zone. I also had a lovely Motorola speaker connected to the base, sounded great in the vehicle.

Did you remove the antenna from the pager? It is possible that the signals from the pager antenna and amplified charger antenna are out of phase and cancelling out each other or the 2 antennas cause directional reception. I would also try cleaning the contacts on both the pager and amplified charger.

I don’t believe the two antennas work together - when you drop into the amplified charger, that antenna takes over. Contacts were cleaned. Using a 700Mhz antenna in a properly installed NMO mount.
Though frankly the pager works incredibly well just clipped to the visor - great range, reception, sound is loud even with some music on.

I use my G5 sitting in a cupholder in the center console. There are no out-of-range problems using only the attached antenna. The audio is set to 60 which is plenty loud for me.

Which Bulletpoint clamp did you find holds the G5? I just installed the kit in my truck but the phone clamp it came with doesn't really hold onto the G5 very well. Love their design - thanks for sharing your setup.View attachment 167970View attachment 167969

No you have to remove the belt clip
I also use the Bullet Point Mounting Solutions system on my Canyon. I had tried the Handheld radio holder from them, but gave up because you have to remove the belt clip to make it work. The belt clip's are fragile enough and when I'm finished with the radio in the truck, I need the clip on so it snaps back into the amp/charger in the house.
I have an alternate solution that I've been using. It is not as elegant the Handheld radio holder, but it works. I use the RAM® Finger-Grip™ Universal GPS and Radio Holder. The mount is set up to accept a 20MM ball mount that is bolted on the back. Holds a G1, G4/5 with no problems.

I just got this one you suggested in the mail, seems to work great. I also bought a RAM small claw and clamped it to my grab handle, it is perfect.I have an alternate solution that I've been using.
