Hoping someone will step in with something to fill the void from loss of the mobile site. Tapatalk reviews in the App Store confirm I was right 2 years ago when I tried Tapatalk and removed it soon after trying it.

Where as I do not find Tapatalk to be all that bad of an app...

Tapatalk is my goto app for RR forum browsing now. There's a few bugs in it but for the most part, it works well.

I never liked Tapatalk - twice - but now sadly it's not even supported on iOS5 anymore. THIS is the only option for mobile users? (sure, the site renders on an iPhone, but really...)

Come on now - you can do better than that.

I love Tapatalk, I visit several sites with the same app. I would rather read the forum this way than through the website.
Take a little time and play with it and you might change your mind

With all the money this site makes off of people volunteering thier scanner audio, you would think they would do thier best to satisfy even the small portion of visitors that used the mobile site instead of a third party app that clearly a handful of people dont like.

I keep the APK for version 2.4.15 around, as I do not like the newer UI on Tapatalk. The older version just works better, I believe.

This thread worried me, as I thought the mobile version of the main site was gone, not just the forums. Luckily, the database access and the rest still work.

Broadcastify is its own separate entity, which was explained ad nauseam when it was founded. Just because we provide support here for listeners and admins does not change that.

If someone does not like a certain aspect of Tapatalk then complain to them.

Or...how about some better options for mobile forums? Instead of fixing your software, you just yank it and shift support to 'Tapatalk'? Come on...

Upon a launch, a "please rate" prompt asked if one liked the program or not. And I did send a note to Tapatalk about the obtuse menus and lack of a help file as I mentioned earlier. I'm finding it a bit easier to use after pounding around for a while, but it shouldn't be so difficult.

My complaint isn't about Tapatalk itself, it's that this site chose to abandon the mobile site and dump us all into Tapatalk when we preferred not to. And last time I checked, Lindsay Blanton was the owner of both sites, so yes, he makes his money off of the volunteer feed providers. And I am willing to bet funding from one site is used for things on the other. You can't sit there and tell me all the cash flow is kept strictly separate. Even if it WAS, the ad revenue alone on this site alone should be enough that the owner could take a couple of grand and put up a different mobile site.

The mobile platform was not RadioReference's software. It was a third-party package that provided mobile support for the vBulletin forum software that the RR forums run on.

The developer of the mobile package quit supporting it and RR started experiencing problems with the software. So, the mobile package was removed from the system. This has all been explained in this thread.

"your software" = RadioReference's mobile support. (I understand your explanation, but I bet none of us users really care what's under the covers.)

In the end, it's RR's native mobile forum support that has disappeared.

If your unhappy with Tapatalk, why not try one of the other forum readers out there?

Tapatalk reviewers on the App Store write that every time you open Tapatalk, you are prompted to sign in via Facebook. If you don't have FB installed, you'll be sent to the FB website. And they add you cannot disable this "feature". How convenient.

Sure...do you have any suggestions off the top of your head? Othwerise I'll start searching.

ForumRunner was one I tried out years ago when Tapatalk became too unstable for me to use.

I've switched back to Tapatalk now and don't have any problems with it (and I'm not bugged about a Facebook login).

We've already explained why it was "dumped". If that's not good enough for you then you can take it up with Lindsay directly since you obviously know that's the root of the solution. Maybe if you would finally drop the antagonist attitude when you voice your opinions we might take you seriously. I'm not going to debate this with you anymore.

I know, I'm a big joke. That's why my opinion does not or will not ever matter on this site, right? Because being an unsatisfied customer is against policies here. You can think whatever you will about me, but I can assure you there are others that share my opinion that choose not to speak up because they are afraid of bullies like you that berate them for voicing their displeasure. I never asked you for argue with me. You chose to reply to my comment, and by the attitude I'm getting in return it appears you are mad you didn't get anywhere. You could just move on to the next thread and not answer me.

Maybe the perfect solution might have been to attempt to change to a DIFFERENT mobile site. THAT'S my complaint. Instead of just dismissing the whole idea, how hard would it be to seek an alternative. THAT's my argument.

As for other forum readers, I've only heard of Tapatalk. What are our other options? Let's hear 'em, maybe one of them isn't so displeasing!
